December Whisky of the Month – Hellyers Road Single Malt Pinot Noir – reviewed by Committee Member and Food and Wine sub-club supporter Robert Rowlands.
Rob has been a huge supporter of Club events, attending whenever he can, often bringing guests who inevitably become Members themselves!
Most recently we were extremely lucky to have a special introduction from Rob to Major Robert Joske OAM, the manager of General Sir Peter Cosgrove, and thus enabled the Club to host an intimate lunch with Sir Peter at the time of the launch of his latest memoir. Tireless in his support of the Club, we know Rob has some other special guests in mind for 2021, so watch this space!
Being the connoisseur of food and wine that he is, Rob was the perfect Committee choice to review this month’s Pinot laced Whisky, Hellyers Road Single Malt hailing from Tasmania. His review below:
Colour: Golden with highlights of amber
Nose: a little fruit with caramel overtones…a lot like Christmas cake
Palate: Sweet, dry and woody
Water: Sweetens and smooths, with sweetness lingering like a good Pinot
Finish: Short, sharp and sparkling
Thanks to Rob for taking the time to review our Whisky of the Month!
