Membership Manager Sara Peelgrane Reviews Archie Rose Malt Rye Whisky of the Month

Tattersalls Club - Sunday, February 09, 2020

With our expanding partnerships being a great benefit of membership, I was excited to review the latest whisky of the month, as it hails from Archie Rose Distillery, who we are newly collaborating with; with Sydney OLD and NEW.

Archie Rose are a local distillery in Rosebery and have gone from strength to strength since they launched in 2014. Just in its infancy in comparison to our long history, yet an up and coming Sydney institution we are proud to support.

The Club will soon be adopting the signature Archie Rose cocktail list in the Members Bar, and are welcoming them onsite with a pop-up cocktail bar at next week’s drinks hosted by Young Members on Thursday 13th.

Don’t forget to make the most of our various benefits with partners Australian Turf Club, Foundation & Friends of the Botanic Gardens, Sydney Dance Company, Sydney Cricket Ground Trust, Sydney FC, and the Waratahs.

Here’s what I thought of their Rye Malt Whisky:

Colour

Golden Orange

Nose

Apricot with woody notes

Palate

Vanilla, peach and apricot with a hint of caramel coming through

Water

Softens the flavours, easy to drink

Finish

Like a woody granola!
