Our own private AFL Grand Final party!

Our own private AFL Grand Final party!

From 13:30

The AFL season is coming to a close, with the final Saturday in September fast approaching.

The season has shown many ups and downs with a buzz around the Club and bragging rights on the line for one of the toughest tipping competitions for quite some time.

So what better way to watch the game (if you can’t get to the MCG) than on the big screen in the Members Bar?

We will be serving all the footy food favourites on the day so make sure you come in hungry; there will also be prizes to be won, game day sweeps and much more.

Members and their guests are welcome; we will also be having a ‘Kids Korner’ in the Dining Room where they will have their own space to watch, eat, play and enjoy the game.

Includes: 4 hour drinks package during the game (beer, wine and soft drink) as well as delicious footy food.

$70 per person (Kids Free with own area for colouring in, games and more)

And remember even if your team doesn’t make the grand final we are encouraging all Members to come dressed up in their footy teams colours. (DRESS CODE DOES NOT APPLY!)

RSVP essential

Exploring the creative processes across dance, fashion and winemaking

Exploring the creative processes across dance, fashion and winemaking

        From 18:00

Join us for an after work drink and discussion co-hosted with our partners Sydney Dance Company, as we talk to three creatives from diverse disciplines to discover more about their creative process.

After this discussion, please stay on for an informal wine tasting with Cassegrain Wines!

Moderated by Peter Miller, Member and CEO of NewsMediaWorks, our panel is comprised of 3 creatives who are all at the top of their fields:

Charmene Yap - Rehearsal Associate, Sydney Dance Company

After a lauded ten year career as one of Sydney Dance Company’s most beloved Dancers, Charmene announced her retirement from her performance career at the end of the Company’s Season One in 2019 and was appointed to the role of Rehearsal Associate. Her many achievements include the 2012 Helpmann Award for Best Female Dancer for her performance in Rafael Bonachela’s 2 One Another and the 2014 Helpmann Award for Best Female Dancer for her performance in Rafael Bonachela’s 2 in D Minor as part of Interplay. Charmene was named in the 2014 Dance Australia Critics Survey for ‘Most Outstanding Dancer’ for her performance in Interplay and 2 One Another. Charmene has worked with some of the world's leading choreographers and interdisciplinary artists including, Lucy Guerin, Sue Healey, Tanja Liedtke, Antony Hamilton, Sue Peacock, Olivia Millard, Ong Yong Lok, Nanette Hassall, Gerard Van Dyck, Mew Chang Tsing and Allora and Calzadilla.

Ali Cotton - Founder and Creative Director of Sports Lifestyle brand, First Base

Launched in 2013, First Base quickly became a leader in the modern activewear market, being snapped up by a myriad of stores throughout Australia, New Zealand, USA, Japan and the UAE. FIRST BASE is much more than a brand, it's a lifestyle. Living and working in Bondi in late 2013, Ali was urged to create something that resonated with her own personal style ethos which was ultimately about stripping back everything unnecessary and getting down to the bones - going back to basics. The concept was to take her love of surf, skate and sports culture and build something that was true, understated, slick and ultimately iconic - just like Bondi Beach. In 2016 FIRST BASE started the journey towards sustainability and the ethical production of their garments. Designed in Bondi and proudly ethically produced in China, they work exclusively with factories that are WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) compliant, ensuring transparency across the supply chain.

Alex Cassegrain - Senior Winemaker, Cassegrain Wines

With a Bachelor of Applied Science in Viticulture and Oenology from The University of Adelaide, Alex gained valuable experience in Tasmania and France, learning his craft at Tamar Ridge Wines and Chateau Guiaud respectively. Now as Senior Winemaker at Cassegrain Wines, he works closely with his father John Cassegrain as together they evolve and refine the distinctive wine style that they have become known for.

Tattersalls Golf Day at St Michael's Golf Club

Tattersalls Golf Day at St Michael's Golf Club

        From 11:00

Join us for the final golf day of the year at St Michael's Golf Course.

St. Michael’s stands among Australia’s best, recently ranked as one of New South Wales top ten golf courses, and holds a national ranking amongst the top fifty.

With a location immersed within the Botany Bay National Parkland, adjoining the Pacific Ocean, course designer’s Glancey and Moran(1938) had vision of designing a tough championship links course, without disturbing the natural terrain and beauty of the Little Bay peninsula (par 72). Today St. Michael’s has evolved as one of Australia’s few environmentally aware golf links by implementing specific programs aimed at protecting our resources, flora and fauna.

This is your final chance to add to your score over 3 out of the 4 rounds of the year and potentially be awarded the coveted Victor Audette Shield for 2019.
