Tattersalls Members enjoyed the latest news and insights from legendary ABC Commentator Jim Maxwell who had just returned from Australia's Indian tour. Grandstand cricket commentator Jim Maxwell gives us his insight into what we can expect in this year's Chappell-Hadlee test series.
A crowd of up to 40 cricket fans gathered in the Members' Bar to hear about all things “cricket” – they weren’t disappointed.
Jim spoke about the experience of the Australian team in India, then he had an entertaining and highly informative chat to members of the Australian Blind Cricket team on the eve of their Ashes Series against England, after which he was joined by two NSW and Australia A players; Mark Cameron and Peter Forrest.
The trio of Maxwell, Cameron and Forrest chatted about the upcoming series against New Zealand (the boys had just come from day one of their tour match against the Kiwis at the SCG), the prospects for NSW cricket this year and the age old rivalries between batsmen and bowlers.
All in all it was a great evening; informative, at times very funny and provided some unique insights into many aspects of the great game of cricket.
