Tattersalls Boardrider Convenor
Up to 30 Members, family and friends headed for a weekend of relaxation and rest on the South Coast at the beautiful Werri Beach, Gerringong. This was the 4th annual visit for the Tattersalls Boardriders (TBR) to Gerringong, with all enjoying a weekend of surfing, golfing, bbqs and fun.
TBR started their weekend on the Friday night with a dinner at the local Cronin's pub. The next morning was a little grey, with some light rain and freezing water temperature but by the afternoon the weather cleared and for the remainder of the weekend the TBR's group enjoyed perfect weather.
Saturday was spent surfing at Werri Beach, directly in front of the 6 cabins booked for the weekend. Some good surfing shown by Justin Clyne and Alex Thorpe. Saturday afternoon included more surfing, and for others Golf at Gerringong Golf course, which is on a beautiful beachside setting close to Gerroa.
The traditional BBQ was held Saturday night, where Pete Werner entertained. By Sunday the surf improved and a group headed around to 7 Mile Beach where we enjoyed a break all to ourselves. David Young and Nigel Murray excelled here in the 3 - 4 ft glassy conditions. Plus there was another 9 holes of golf enjoyed by some which rounded off the weekend.
A thoroughly enjoyable weekend of surfing, sun, golf and fun in a magic setting close to Sydney. This weekend will be repeated in 2009, along with our annual March jaunt to Bendalong.

Weekend format :
- Friday evening meal at Cronins pub
- Saturday morning surfing at sparrows, normally at 7 Mile beach followed by breakfast, then more surfing.
- Saturday afternoon is Golf at Gerringong Golf Club
- Saturday night BBQ
- Sunday more surfing, lunch and relaxation
The Boardriders club have 6 cabins booked at the Werri Beach Camp area and to date have four cabins booked. This is a great weekend for family and friends. Organisers for weekend include Ken Glover, Peter Werner, Nigel Murray and Alex Thorpe.
