Recap. On Tuesday 7 October we had the pleasure of hosting some of the sons and daughters of our members for our first School Holiday program. The children spent the entire morning at the Club, first enjoying breakfast with their parents and then heading to the AD for activities.
The first hour was spent with our trainer, Chris, who guided the kids through the fundamentals of strength training, tailored to their age and ability. They were curious and enthusiastic, connecting the exercises to their favourite sports.
The next hour, we took advantage of our squash court, where our young guests learned the basics of the game while trying their best to hit the ball as hard as possible. The activities were relocated to the mezzanine area, where children had the opportunity to play a couple of games of table tennis. The points were contested, and enthusiasm reached an all-time high.
Our final activity took them to the pool area, where Malcolm showed them some basic and advanced swimming techniques. The time at the pool was very enjoyable and a perfect complement to all the training and games they played beforehand. After all the hard work, they got to use both the cold plunges and the steam room for an impromptu recovery session.
The activities concluded with a lovely lunch served on Lane 5, where their parents joined them to review everything they had enjoyed and learned during the day.
Overall, it was a great experience, and we can’t wait to host more of our future members next time!
