A beautiful yet simple Checkmate here as we look backwards to go forwards. 1. White Queen on D5 moves to H1. Black unfortunately encounters an inevitable checkmate as no matter their move, white’s next move proves fatal. Lets say we move black pawn on G7 to G5 to threaten the White Knight on H4, that White Knight will checkmate the king on G6. Alternatively, if Black’s Knight moves to F5, Whites Knight will again move to G6 to checkmate the King, as now the White queen is pinning the H7 pawn. A great reason to look back!
