Last Thursday, members gathered in the Members Bar for an entertaining and surprisingly eye-opening evening with the Club’s very own mixologist, Eduardo.
An intimate group of 11 members enjoyed a hands-on cocktail experience that blended creativity, flavour and a touch of theatre. While bartenders are known for speed and service, Eduardo demonstrated that mixology is an entirely different craft altogether, one focused on experimentation, balance, presentation and innovation.
The evening’s standout moment came when Eduardo transformed ordinary white milk into a completely clear liquid, a process that left members both impressed and slightly bewildered. It was a moment worthy of a magic act and quickly became one of the talking points of the night.
Beyond the visual tricks and beautifully balanced cocktails, members also discovered that many of Eduardo’s creations can realistically be recreated at home with a little preparation and patience, particularly when made in larger batches.
The night spoke for itself, good company, great drinks, and a genuine appreciation for the craft behind every glass. Safe to say, many members left with a new understanding of what true mixology looks like, and perhaps a renewed reason to spend more time in the Members Bar.
