Our April AD Member of the Month is all about consistency, commitment and getting the job done, and this month we recognise Alf Moufarrige.

After a short break from racing, Alf made a strong return to the Tattersalls master’s team, competing across two major carnivals.

The first was the Long Course Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC). Across three individual events and one relay, Alf delivered an impressive performance, taking home three gold medals and a silver medal while breaking two longstanding NSW records.

He set the tone early in the 200m freestyle, breaking a new age-group record. Later in the day, he added another gold in the 50m freestyle before contributing to a silver medal finish in the men’s 280+ mixed medley relay.

Backing up the following day, Alf secured his third gold medal in the 100m freestyle, breaking another record and finishing more than 10 seconds ahead of the field.

Building on this momentum, Alf then travelled to Brisbane for the National Masters Games. There, he claimed gold in the 50m freestyle, narrowly missing out on the national record.

He also took on a new challenge, stepping outside his comfort zone to compete in the 400m freestyle for the first time. Continuing his strong form, Alf powered through to secure another gold medal.

With more racing ahead, we look forward to seeing what’s next.

Congratulations Alf on an outstanding return to competition!
