Another Long Lunch is in the books, and once again, our kitchen team, led by Head Chef Fernando, outdid themselves in every sense. From the research and sourcing of seasonal ingredients through to the preparation, teamwork, and flawless execution on the day, the result was a one-off menu that was as thoughtful as it was delicious. The menu was then handed over to Mario to pair the wines, ensuring another memorable lunch experience for all in attendance.
With more than thirty members and guests joining us, including a wonderful mix of familiar faces and first-timers, the room was alive with exactly the kind of energy these lunches are known for. Those joining us for the first time quickly discovered what our regulars already know: the Seasonal Long Lunch is about far more than the food. It is about the connections made, the stories shared, and the laughter that travels from one end of the table to the other.
As members and guests settled in and introductions were made, they were welcomed with a Prawn Toast, Ginger, Sesame and Soy Amuse Bouche that set the tone perfectly. It was so well received that more than a few guests were already asking whether it could find a permanent home on the daily menu. The entrée that followed, a Crab and Scallop Agnolotti with Shellfish Bisque, was elegant and deeply flavoursome. Mains brought a beautifully presented Whole Grilled Spatchcock with Jerusalem Artichoke and Jus Gras, before the afternoon was sweetly concluded with a Fig Tarte Tatin served with Vanilla Ice Cream and Apple Balsamic.
It was a perfect afternoon shared among members and guests alike.
Save the date for the next Seasonal Long Lunch on Thursday 6 August from 12:00 to 15:00!
