Sydney showed up for the HOKA Half Marathon on the weekend, clear skies, perfect conditions, and a city that felt made for running
From the early hours of the morning, Martin Place Metro trembled under the weight of a packed 06:00 surge of runners making their way to the start line, as thousands of competitors took part across the 21.1km course. It was fantastic to see the Club well represented, with five members lining up and embracing the challenge with determination and enthusiasm. The following members did an exceptional job with their times located below.
- Nick Bangs – 1:41 (4-minute personal best)
- Nathan Wrench – 1:41 (first half marathon)
- Kim Jones – 2:04
- Christy Thiel – 2:09
- Peter Thiel – 2:09
- Chamila Fernando – 2:28
Beyond the results, the day was a reminder of what makes events like this so special, the early starts, the shared encouragement along the course, and the sense of accomplishment at the finish line. It is this same spirit that continues each week at the Wednesday Run Club, where members of all levels come together to train, connect, and enjoy the run.
Congratulations to all runners who took part in the event, and especially to our Club members for their outstanding efforts and results.
The Run sub club welcomes members of all abilities, and we encourage anyone ready to begin their running journey to sign up by clicking the button below!
