Forget the world cup, we have all the action here in the Athletic Department.
Over the past few weeks one of the world’s greatest sporting events has been taking place, and we aren’t talking about the soccer world cup but the Hanrahan Glover Cup which is Tattersalls’ one of the most sought-after awards.
The cup is named after two of the Athletic Department legends in Rick Glover and Mike Hanrahan and is awarded to the member who participates in the most group classes in the four weeks leading into the Tattersalls member party.
With the World’s Greatest Relay accounting for points this year, the competition has been one of the closest winning margins.
We are beyond excited to announce this year’s winner Ian “ The Jet” McLachlan.
Ian is a regular in our group classes attending two classes a day where possible, he made strong ground by being a pinch hitter in the relay (helping out to make sure the event ran smoothly) and then coming back during lunch to attend the remaining classes.
Known for his infectious laugh and encouraging yet sarcastic humour, Ian often goes above and beyond what is required of him in the group classes and makes sure that all those around him feel welcomed and encouraged.
This award caught a lot of attention at the Members’ Christmas party and we know it will take a great place in Ian’s house.
Once again congratulations Ian, it is truly well deserved.
