This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias.

For the Club, we have chosen to highlight incredible women who have overcome trauma through creativity, advocating against bias around domestic violence and abuse survivors and asylum seekers and refugees.

Meet our inspirational panellists:

Hani Abdile
Hani is a writer, student and spoken word poet, who was forced to leave her home country of Somalia, coming to Australia alone at the age of just 17, seeking protection in 2014.

Melanie Jai
Melanie is the founder of The Paper Boat Project and a Sydney-based visual artist, advocate, and collaborator, she is passionate about casting a light on the long term physical and psychological damage caused by child abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence.
