DESCRIPTION:Thursday 2 April from 18:00 in the Members Bar \nOn the first Thursday of every month from 18:00 to 19:00\, members are invited to the Bar to enjoy a curated selection of wines with tasting notes provided. These wine tastings are complimentary and open to all members and $10 for guests\, with no RSVP required; just drop by\, pour a glass\, and explore something new. \nIn April\, we are showcasing four exceptional wines from Tyrrell’s and sharing a little of the winery’s history for you to enjoy while you sip. \nTyrrell’s Wines began in 1858 when Edward Tyrrell planted his first vines in the Hunter Valley. What started as a small pioneering vineyard has grown into one of Australia’s most respected family wineries. Still family-owned after five generations\, Tyrrell’s continues to produce wines that have helped define the Hunter Valley style. \nThe following wines will be available for members to enjoy in the Members Bar: \nTyrrells HVD Semillon 2019\nA single vineyard Semillon sourced from one of Tyrrell’s historic blocks\, highlighting the purity and precision of Hunter Valley Semillon.\nTasting Notes: \n\nAroma: lemon zest\, lime blossom\, subtle herbal lift\nPalate: crisp citrus with bright acidity and fine minerality\nFinish: long\, clean\, and tightly structured\n\nTyrrells Vat 1 Semillon 2019\nThe flagship Tyrrell’s Semillon and a benchmark Australian white wine first released in the early 1960s.\nTasting Notes: \n\nAroma: lime\, lemon pith\, and delicate floral notes\nPalate: vibrant citrus with fine texture and precise acidity\nFinish: long\, pure\, and built for extended cellaring\n\nTyrrells Vat 47 Chardonnay 2023\nFirst created in the early 1970s by Murray Tyrrell\, Vat 47 helped shape the modern Australian Chardonnay style and remains one of the country’s classic examples.\nTasting Notes: \n\nAroma: lemon\, grapefruit\, white peach\, light vanilla\nPalate: medium-bodied with citrus and stone fruit supported by a creamy texture\nFinish: fresh\, balanced\, subtle oak\n\nTyrrells Vat 9 Shiraz 2023\nFirst released in 1965\, Vat 9 quickly became recognised as one of the Hunter Valley’s benchmark Shiraz wines.\nTasting Notes: \n\nAroma: blackberry\, plum\, spice\, subtle earthy notes\nPalate: medium-bodied with dark fruit\, pepper\, and soft tannins\nFinish: smooth\, balanced\, and elegant\n\nWe look forward to welcoming you to our monthly wine tasting and sharing an evening of exceptional Hunter Valley wines.
