Welcome to all our whisky lovers for the year 2023! For the month of February, Tattersalls is warming up the Aberlour 12-Year-Old Double Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

The Aberlour Distillery was founded in 1879 and is a beautiful distillery settled at the foot of Ben Rinnes, a mountain in northern Scotland known for its crystal clear spring water.

When you visit Aberlour, there is always a lingering smell of blackcurrants in the air and that note is at the heart of every drop of whisky that runs out of our stills. They carefully hand-pick their Oloroso Sherry casks from traditional Sherry bodegas in Spain, whilst also using American oaked casks, making sure the wood has exactly the right combination of aromatic qualities. This double cask tasting notes are as follows:

Colour: Golden amber with hints of ruby red
Nose: Vanilla with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg
Palate: Raisins and Christmas cake, or a doughy bun with lots of sweetness and spice
Water: Only a little bit of water and it tastes like artificial sweetener, but the spice lingers on
Finish: Medium finish with a bit of woodiness at the end, very smooth and easy to drink

The end result is a distinctively rich and fruity. You will experience sweetness with traces of Christmas, a warm soft whisky full of fruitiness and mouth-coating delicious flavour.
