Get to know the faces behind the Desk, the bar, and the phone.

There is no doubt that we have the best team in the world at the club, so let’s dive deep into the club and learn some more about our staff.

Name and position: Jared Patira – Member Services and Property Maintenance manager

You will also see me pouring the occasional Beer in the Members’ bar or contacting you via email to organise sub-club events.

How long have you been here: 7 years and 4 months

The best thing about Tattersalls Club: It is the staff and members that you get to meet. I have met some great people in my time here at the club and I look forward to meeting more of you.

How do you relax outside of the club: After 20 years of playing AFL and many injuries later I needed a change and started to put more time into Golf at the end of 2020. Playing my first round of golf in years and not being sore from football the day prior was an amazing feeling. I have not looked back ever since regularly hitting the course either for a quick back 8 at Moore Park during the week or a full round anywhere in Sydney that we can get on over the weekend.

I too am a Carlton supporter like Mal, but I definitely do not get to relax watching their games, but that is all part of the fun I suppose.

What’s your go-to fitness mantra: Find the right balance between physical and mental health for you.

Sometimes that is walking the golf course and yelling at the golf ball or getting involved in a number of Athletic department initiatives throughout the year such as: taking back Sydney runs, Wanda sand dunes, the New York marathon or the infamous Saturday morning breakfast club.

What influence are you having on the club this week: I will be assisting our cyclists while they complete the four-day Zoo2Zoo charity ride beginning next Thursday. Malcolm and I will be in the support vehicle for our cyclists, also I am finalising the Tattersalls Golf Day which will be held at the Australian Golf Club next Thursday morning tee off at 08:00.
