Last Tuesday, the Book Club met and discussed this book, which explores how famous authors’ lives and creative processes were influenced by their cats.
Most in the group enjoyed the book, and almost everybody commented positively on the staggering amount of detail and research that went into it. The vignette-style format allowed readers to gain a greater understanding of many authors, their backgrounds, and motivations.
The book scored an average of 7/10. Three-word summaries included: “Cats-Creative Companions”, “Became Cat Tragic”, “Cats Can Write?” and “Pampered Published Pussies!”
Next month, the Book Club reviews Finding Sanity by John Cade, a study on lithium and the taming of bipolar disorder.
