Capping off a successful campaign with Sydney University first grade cricket, our Athletic Department (AD) Member of the Month has made a habit of ruining several batsmen’s days and cementing himself as the premier bowler in the Sydney competition.
Kieran Tate was this year’s leading wicket taker in the premier first grade competition, known as the Belvidere Cup, taking an impressive 43 wickets at a remarkable average of 18.49.
Kieran also saw his batting average rise this season, now averaging above 12 runs, not bad for a strike bowler.
His rise through the ranks has been well noted in Sydney University history, having been with the Club since 2011.
Kieran’s wicket haul this year also saw him named in the Kingsgrove Sports Men’s Merit XII First Grade Team of the Year 2025-26, while also claiming the best bowling aggregate across all Sydney University teams.
A quiet achiever who goes about his work with little fuss, Kieran was nominated by multiple members for this award, showing the impact he has had on a Club steeped in rich sporting tradition.
Congratulations on your outstanding results, Kieran.
