A world record set in our very own pool!
If you were in the Club over the weekend, you would have witnessed history.
We were pleased to host a unique but breathtaking (well, technically breath holding) world record.
Over the space of 24 hours, 9 accomplished free divers completed 3918 underwater laps, the equivalent of 98 km underwater in our very own pool!
The previous world record stood at 3240 laps, so not only did they beat the old record, but they also completely blew it out of the pool.
An added element of celebration was the incredible fundraising effort, which went hand in hand with this record. The team of divers and their support staff raised over $10,000 for our charity partner Rainbow Club, a unique charity that offers swimming lessons for children with disabilities.
This amazing effort, along with the effort of the divers, meant it was celebration time on the pool deck on Sunday morning. From all of us here at Tattersalls, we send our fondest congratulations on all that was achieved.
A special mention to Staff member Jeanette, who provided valuable assistance along the way for those undertaking the challenge.
