The Business Forum decided to see how the other half lived and moved from early Tuesday mornings to a beautiful Thursday evening to enjoy a tour de force through the oldest/newest disruptor in the spirit market…Red Mill Rum.
Some members approached a rum tasting evening with a degree of trepidation, triggered by hazy memories of cheap rum and nasty hangovers from their youth (ok that may have just been me).
No need to worry however, as the Club put on an amazing evening, as only Tatts can.
Outstanding food prepared by our wunderkind Chef, Emmanuel paired the rum tasting perfectly.
Mario and the team provided amazing service, making it look effortless.
And we were regaled by David Fesq – owner of Red Mill Rum – with tales of the back story of Red Mill Rum, it’s rebirth as basically a COVID baby (although probably at a much higher price tag than a cavoodle), the high barriers to entry for a start up in the spirit business (even it’s a 90+ year old start up) and David’s vision of Rum being the next spirit to undertake the premiumisation journey.
A truly enjoyable evening.
