The Tattersalls Reciprocal relations across the globe are booming. We are constantly working on onboarding some of the most prestigious private Members Club from around the world onto our Reciprocal list.
Today we are pleased to welcome The University Club of Washington DC to our Reciprocal Club community.
For more than 116 years, The University Club of Washington, DC has stood as one of the nation’s most prestigious private city clubs. Founders including President William Howard Taft and Supreme Court Justice Melville Fuller were part of a larger group of political, business and civic leaders who laid to cornerstone of tradition and excellence that continue to be the hallmarks of the club today. The Club is located just four blocks from The White House, providing access to many of the major Washington, DC sights. It is a Platinum Club of America and Distinguished Club of the World.
On the first floor, The Club offers fine dining in The William Howard Taft Dining Room and a lovely 5,000-volume library straight out of Architectural Digest with current newspapers, journals, and books. They have a new outdoor space called The Fellowship Garden, which is used for private events and for the Member’s enjoyment.
The second floor contains private event venues that can be personalized for 10 to 350 guests and casual dining in the John J. Pershing Grille and Founder’s Pub, which contains a hand-carved Brazilian Billiard table. They are known for our superb cuisine as Chef Franck is a Michelin star award winner.
The third floor has a 24-hour business centre and a state-of-the-art fitness centre featuring aerobics, circuit weight training equipment, and free weights.
Currently the fourth through seventh floors house has 57 guestrooms with full amenities (2 suites), ensuite baths and showers, and room service. The sixth and seventh-floor guestrooms include executive elegantly appointed rooms. On the rooftop – they offer a wonderful open space with a bar and décor for private events and for our guests to enjoy the scenic views.
The lower level is equipped with a private day spa “Sage” offering massages, facials, body treatments, manicures, and pedicures, as well as an athletic facility that includes an Olympic-size pool, whirlpool, international squash courts and personal trainers. They are also the only private club in DC that has a Sports Simulator (similar to the one that Tiger Woods owns). Additionally, the club has a full game room to house it and the Sports Simulator offers over 50 different golf courses and other games to play such as tennis etc.
Our Members are able to visit the University Club of Washington and use its facilities for up to 14 days every three months.
