Last Monday, on an overcast morning in cool weather and light rain, 32 members together with guests took part in the second golf day for the 2023 year at the outstanding The Lakes Golf Course. With the rain stopping before our shot gun tee off, conditions were conducive to some fine golf.
All groups finished at about the same time and were treated to sandwiches and drinks. It was great to see so many people stay for the “what could have been” discussions and the presentation.
The winners on the day were as follows:
First: Brett Scallon with 40 points
Second: Scott Menzies with 39 points
Third: James Gallichan with 36 points on a count back
Longest Drive: James Gallichan
Nearest to the Pin: Colin Dunn
We play 4 events during the year with the best 3 scores out of the 4 being used to determine the winner of the coveted Victor Audette Shield which can only be won by a member. The remainder of the events for the year are:
Concord on Thursday 10 August 2023 at 8:30.
New South Wales on Tuesday 14 November 2023 at 13:30.
In addition to these events, we are planning a trip to Orange from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 October 2023 which follows the enormous success of the Hunter Valley trip.
We are again holding our Christmas presentation lunch at the Club at 12:30 Friday 8 December 2023.
