It seems like only last week we completed the first ever World’s greatest relay- a multi-sports event that saw teamwork, encouragement, people pushing themselves to their limit and sledging (mostly friendly) within the Athletic Department walls.

In only 5 weeks’ time, we get to do this all over again, the format remains largely the same with only slight tweaks being made.

The most important change is the fact that we will be doing two sessions a day.
Session one will commence at 06:00 lasting for 45 mins
Session two will commence at 12:30 and will last for 45 minutes.

The reason for the change is we want all Athletic Department members to be able to participate in the WGR.

The Athletic team have created a 6 week training plan which has put a large focus on getting everyone ready to bring their absolute best to the WGR.

We have also noted that the running day last year caused a slight hiccup in the injury department, due to this we have made alternative changes if needed.

In next week’s newsletter, we will release the final format for the WGR as well as details of the celebration at the conclusion.
