Last night, the Club hosted Her Excellency the Honourable Governor Margaret Beazley AC QC who gave a compelling and enthralling talk on the power of institutions and their relevancy in modern life.

Her Excellency wove a powerful speech that captivated the capacity crowd in the Members’ Dining Room and was also refreshingly down-to-earth and honest during the Q&A session afterwards.

“I was not sure what to expect with a topic like ‘the power of institutions'” commented Committee Member Matt Braithwaite-Young.

“But I needn’t have worried because, quite frankly, Her Excellency gave possibly the most vivid and interesting talk I have heard in years. That it was in the intimate surrounds of our Club and amongst friends was just a big bonus. I left inspired and informed by both the talk and the thoughtful and sincere Q&A discussion afterwards.

“I will be attending all of the Impact series – if they are half as strong as this it will be one of the most significant projects the Club has undertaken in my decade of Membership. Well done to everyone involved.”

While Governor Beazley’s speech was full of interesting anecdotes, maybe the most important mark of the evening was Her Excellency celebrating five years to the day since joining Tattersalls Club!

Tattersalls is proud to be home to so many prominent members of our Community, and we thank Governor Beazley for giving her time to her Club.

We hope you can join us for the next instalment of the Impact Series, to be held in July. More information to follow.
