Remember the name and remember the face because 2024 is all about Patricia Reid.
We guarantee you this won’t be the last time we talk about our April AD Member Of The Month.

Patricia first graced our newsletter in 2023 when after a multiple decade long break Patricia returned to masters swimming and took home a swag of medals.

This was all the motivation needed for Patricia to decided that swimming was once again her sport- and she wanted to succeed!

Using her results as the catalyst to train harder both in the pool and the gym as well as attending our Wednesday racing, Patricia recently took to the pool at the NSW Long course Masters at Homebush and again bought home a handful of medals.

Overall Patricia claimed an incredible 4 medals:
Gold in the 50 mt Backstroke.
Silver in the 100 mt and 200 mt Backstroke (in both races Patricia was in the lead with 20 mts to go but was touched out on the wall) and a Bronze in the 50 mt freestyle.

These results for most people would be enough, they’d put the cue in the rack and rest on their laurels. Not the case with Patricia (and hence the reason we are saying remember the name). Using these results (and the previous ones from last year) Patricia has now entered herself in the Australian Masters to compete in Darwin, in not only the events in which she is likely to medal but also trying her hand at the 50 mt Butterfly the 100 mt freestyle and perhaps even a Medley for good measure.

We have no doubt that this will be another successful meet for Patricia who will only add to her ever impressive and growing tally of medals.

We wish Patricia luck in her upcoming event, but also salute her for her previous results which have qualified her to be the April AD Member of the Month. Patricia is now in the running for 2024 Sports Person of the Year.
