In what was one of the hottest September days on record a few brave but primed Tattersalls runners completed the Blackmores running festival.

The festival is known to be one of the world’s most picturesque, taking in Luna Park, Circular Quay, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Rocks as part of the course.

Tattersalls was strongly represented by some exceptional people.

Douglas Prime completed his first Marathon and rode every stage of emotion over the 42.2km course, stopping the clock in 4 hours 55 mins.

Tommy Lim making his long-awaited comeback to distance running completed the course in 5 hours 37mins – extraordinary efforts by both considering the weather.

The half marathon saw Maria Cresta-Wiesener complete her first half in over 11 years- after months of dedicated training and early morning starts Maria did a PB of 1hr 58 mins (breaking that elusive 2-hour mark) and placing her in the top 20 of her age group.

Angus Bennett also took on the half course, for those who know Angus you would be hard-pressed to find a fitter or more dedicated athlete, after training consistently over the period of only four months Angus was able to complete the distance in only 79mins averaging a mind-blowing 3min 19s per Kilometer.

Overall a fantastic effort for all those involved!

NB- If you ran over the weekend and we didn’t mention it in this article we apologise and will make sure we give you a special shoutout when you are in the club next.
