The Club has created some opportunities to learn new skills, and we look forward to developing these initiatives over the coming year. Introducing our newest Sub Clubs, adding to our already varied list!

Bridge for Beginners – we have just completed our first beginners bridge course and Members enjoyed the game, taught in a clear and fun way in the Club, and we now look to facilitate a bi-monthly game in the Club.

“The Beginners Bridge course was an outstanding success, turning a group of card-carrying novices into competent beginners. Emma prepared a series of hands that applied all the key ideas. We now understand the roles of declarers, responders and dummies, and are starting to get comfortable with bidding. It is very clear there is a great deal to learn to be a good bridge player, but we all now know enough to enjoy the game and play dangerously.”

Chess for Beginners – We have now also set our dates for a beginners chess 5-week course. Tuesdays 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st August from 18:00 to 19:30, with Members having the opportunity to be taught by a grand master!

Tennis – Our first block of intermediate to advance comp has started, along with beginners lessons about to wrap up their 6-week course.
