Next Book Club Meeting: Tuesday 27 August at 17:30 at the Members Bar

From Member Peter Werner:

This novel, written almost 25 years ago, was considered to have aged reasonably well although there were concerns raised about misogyny and sexism that may not see it survive the publishing process in 2024.

Described as easy to read, and difficult to listen to on audiobooks with phenomenal wordplay and comparisons to Nabokov. Three-word summaries include “obscurest, psychotropic, witticisms”, “raunchy, randy, romp”, “exciting, ridiculous, surprising, “parrot gets unstuffed” and “what a ride”.

Mostly rated 8/10 with an outlier at 4/10.

The upcoming book for discussion is “Life After Ted” by Rick Feneley. Our Book Club members will meet on Tuesday 27 August at 17:30 for their monthly discussion.
