B FOR BANKING

Part of Business Week, this week’s business forum saw a lively discussion all about the banking sector.   The perspectives of members led to a rich discussion on industry trends and underlying structure, both domestically and internationally.

At the Business Forum, the aim is to create a space for you to listen to ideas and information from a breadth of member experiences to create insightful connections and discoveries you can apply in your business – or just build good general knowledge.

Our BOF members are as diverse in their business experiences as their musical tastes.  Here are some of their favourite bands:

Beatles, Pink Floyd, Mozart, Jazz at Seely’s, Coldplay, Blondie, Eagles, Queens of the Stone Age, Sydney Symphony

Business Forum Bring together Members who are business owners or interested in business, commerce, and the wider economy to stimulate thinking by sharing information and insights with each other.

NEXT BUSINESS FORUM – 13 JUNE – CHIPS, CURRENCY and DEFENCE

In our industry review this year so far we have done A for Aviation and B for Banking -next month we come to C and D.

CHIPS – silicon, not spuds.  Global demand and supply for silicon chips is impacting geopolitics and creating a cold war.

CURRENCY – what on earth is happening to currency and is there really a chance the RMB will roll the USD as the global reserve currency?

DEFENCE – clearly a growth industry but what are the fundamentals of the local industry and will the US military industry policy shifts impact opportunities and threats down under?   As Paul Kelly commented in the Australian: “America is on a new path and Australia needs a new strategy”
