What can the FBI teach us about doing business?
At our upcoming Business Forum, we’re tapping into an unexpected, but utterly fascinating, source of professional insight: the world of law enforcement and forensic investigation.
Member, Lexi Airey, recently attended the Writers Police Academy in Wisconsin, a hands-on training event where writers, law enforcement officers, and FBI agents come together to explore real-world crime scene techniques, interrogation methods, and cutting-edge surveillance technology.
This will be the Business Forum version of the presentation Lexi delivered to her leadership team when she returned—and we’re lucky enough to get a debrief that is sure to be the most fun we have had at the Business Forum all year.
What you’ll learn:
- How to avoid bias in your work (and spot it in others’)
- How to detect deception in job interviews
- How to read a room and identify who’s about to ask the next tough question
And some fascinating side facts about:
- The spy on your wrist (your smartwatch might know more than you think)
- Interrogation techniques you probably shouldn’t replicate at work
- Why pencil drawings are still better than computers for criminal identification
- And why running down a river won’t help you shake a tail (sorry, action movies)
Lexi herself admits that much of the really fun stuff has only “dubious” links to business—but when has that ever stopped a great conversation?
As always, we’ll also feature our resident tax experts for the annual favourite:
“How You Can Guarantee a Visit from the ATO This Year”
RSVPs are essential. Please email [email protected] to book your spot.
