As we gear up for our highly anticipated 10×10 charity event, we are thrilled to announce the second charity that will be taking the stage: The Cova Project.

The Cova Project is on a mission to provide menstrual cups and menstrual health education to women across Africa. Their goal is simple yet profound: to bridge the 50-day school attendance gap caused by menstruation. Working hand in hand with exceptional local partner organisations, The Cova Project distributes these cups responsibly, with materials tailored specifically to the communities they serve.

Menstruation is a global issue that impacts girls at a critical juncture in their lives, affecting not only their education but also their self-confidence. In many developing communities, girls drop out of school altogether because they lack the necessary resources to manage menstruation. This leads to a cascade of consequences, including diminished self-worth, early marriage, and early motherhood. The ripple effect of this educational gap is profound, impacting economies and societal progress. Educated women are more likely to engage in political discourse, and their presence in government has been shown to reduce corruption.

The menstrual cups provided by The Cova Project are more than just tools; they are instruments of empowerment. By keeping girls in school and reducing absenteeism, these cups instil confidence and dignity in young women.
