Join us to watch the Women’s WXV Rugby Competition: Australia vs Wales – Live on the big screen!
The WXV competition was created in 2021 and launched this year and is designed to create a pathway for international women’s teams to play regular game-time against fellow nations aiming to offer consistent annual fixtures for sides outside of World Cup years.
The competition will consist of three tiers, respectively named WXV 1, WXV 2, and WXV 3. Each tier will consist of six teams divided into two pools and will run in a split pool format, where teams only face teams from the other pool. With the expansion of the 2025 Rugby World Cup from 12 to 16 teams, the test calendar was restructured, with the WXV serving to revolutionise the women’s international rugby landscape.
After a poor turnout in their first-round game against England last Friday evening, the Wallaroos shifted their focus to take on France this Saturday night. France currently sit in 3rd place on the table after a narrow 18-17 victory over the home team New Zealand Kiwi Ferns over the weekend. This Saturday night looks like it will be an enthralling game between the two sides.
Looking ahead to round 3 of the WXV tournament the Wallaroos will head to Mt Smart stadium to take on Wales in what will be another huge contest between the respective 5th and 6th rugby teams in the world. This game will be live on the big screen in the Member’s Bar kick-off from 17:00.
What is better than Live Rugby and Chairman’s Shout? One hour of complimentary drinks will be available from 17:00 to 18:00 in our Members’ Bar whilst you enjoy the rugby and cheer on Wallaroos.
