On 18 May, we celebrated the Club’s 165th anniversary. The event was a remarkable display of camaraderie and youthful enthusiasm!
The festivities were brought to life by the amazing talents of our Young Member’s chair, Mickaela Mate, who graced the evening as the charismatic Master of Ceremonies.
Toasts were called including the toast from the Club’s youngest member Tom Alscher who led with the following poem:
“There was an ol chariman named col,
who was very good at his role,
with a group of great guys,
watched by all eyes,
they steadily move toward our goal”
These traditions and many others continue and whatever the birthday, it’s a great opportunity for Members to celebrate our fabulous Club.
From members:
“I enjoyed the 165th Anniversary celebration very much. Full compliments to all of the Tattersall’s staff on a very enjoyable evening, attentive service and a nice selection of drinks and canapés. The speech by Colin was interesting and informative and the update on Young Members and the increase in women membership was also great.” – Chris Pearson
“We all thought Mickaela was fantastic and the new young members’ toast was genius and should become a tradition. Also, I would like to compliment chef on the meat which was tender and so delicious – several comments from our table that it was some of the best we have had at a big event.” – Matt Braithwaite-Young
“Congratulations on a very well-run event. The food was fantastic!” – Tristan Hedley
“Mickaela did an excellent job as an MC. She makes a valuable contribution to the revived young members committee” – James Bevan.
