Recap. Last Wednesday evening, we gathered in the Dining Room to welcome new members who have joined us over the previous quarter, and what a wonderful night it was.
Previously, the Club Chairman hosted a cocktail party with canapés and drinks, bringing together new members, sub-club captains, and long-time members for an evening of mingling. While well-intentioned, we found this format could be somewhat overwhelming for newcomers, with the night passing quickly and making it difficult to form meaningful connections or remember the many names and conversations.
It was time for a change.
The new format proved to be a resounding success. New members and their partners were invited to join select sub-club captains, Committee members, and senior staff for a more intimate, family-style evening. Guests arrived to drinks and relaxed conversation before being seated together at a long table, where Colin opened the evening with a warm welcome speech. We were then treated to a delicious spread of pizzas and pasta, ideal for sharing and enjoying together.
This relaxed setting allowed us to truly get to know our incoming members, hearing their stories about what brought them to Tattersalls and what they’re looking forward to experiencing at the Club. In turn, longer-standing members shared club stories, highlights from recent events, and insights into the vibrant community our new members are now part of.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with new members expressing how welcomed and connected they felt. It’s evenings like these that remind us of what makes our Club special: the people, the stories, and the genuine connections we build.
Welcome to the Tattersalls family!
