This month, we’re featuring a truly unique whisky experience. Aged for six years in American bourbon barrels before being finished in French Oak New Zealand red wine barrels, the Double Wood Master Blended Whisky carries a rich, layered flavour. The distillery, sadly closed in 1997, with the stills dismantled and relocated to Fiji for rum production. Today, The New Zealand Whisky Company preserves the remaining stock, allowing us to enjoy this rare spirit.
Did you know? Whisky has been part of India’s history since British colonisation, but the warm climate causes a 2% loss of whisky each year as it evaporates through the barrels—affectionately known as the Angel’s Share. This is why Indian whiskies tend to be younger than their Scottish and Irish counterparts.
Our whisky of the month offers a taste of how thirsty those angels can be. Don’t miss your chance to sample this rare and remarkable spirit!
