Getting injured is not uncommon for anyone who engages in any form of physical activity, whether it is high-level sports or your average gym-goer. When this happens, we have to go through the painful process of resting and recovering, until eventually we can begin the rehabilitation process.
Most people are familiar with this process, even those who have never gone through it. The best way to avoid (or at least mitigate) these situations is to prepare the body fully so it can perform optimally.
The Prehabilitation proactive approach aims to prevent injuries before they happen. Prehab occurs before any injury occurs, often as part of a routine or preventive measure. This approach includes exercises, mobility work, and conditioning to target weak points, improve flexibility, and enhance overall function, reducing the risk of future injury.
This can range from big exercises like squats and deadlifts to small, controlled movements like rotator cuff training or hip mobility drills. Our great trainers at the Athletic Department cover most of these movements in the wide variety of classes we offer throughout the week. We want to remind our members that we brought back our Tuesdays and Thursdays at 18:00 this year. evening classes to ensure you have more options to join us and keep you fit, healthy, and injury-free.
