Tattersalls community, please pat yourself on the back. Our efforts made a difference. As a team, we raised nearly $4000 for the “Push for better” Foundation. This, combined with other factors, helped reduce the number of people who made the tragic decision to end their life in 2024.
Unfortunately, we still have work to do, and lots of it. On average, 9 people take their life a day in Australia. This needs to be rectified, it needs to be stopped, and we can help.
Once again, as a Club and community, we are registering for the push-up challenge. This challenge is designed to raise vital funds for our mental health system and reduce the stigma around asking for help if it is needed.
This year’s number of push-ups is lower than last year’s (that’s the great part). The hard part is that this year, we will complete 3214 push-ups. Of course, there are alternatives to pushups if you have a bad shoulder. You can choose to do squats, burpees, crunches, or even bicep curls! Whatever you choose to do, remember that it is for a great cause and something to be proud of.
We will release more information about the challenge in a few weeks, but for now, we ask you to start thinking about participating and showing why the Tattersalls community is such a great one.
If you or someone you know is experiencing distress, support is available — please reach out to Beyond Blue – 1300 22 4636 for assistance or to help someone in need. The line is available 24/7.
