For a site that grows such tiny amount of Australia’s Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Tolpuddle vineyard receives a large amount of attention for the quality of wines for the two varietals it produces.

The vineyard is set in a beautiful pristine environment, one that is cool but relatively dry, perfect for ripening Chardonnay. Currently stashed in a hidden place at the Club is the 2018 Tolpuddle Chardonnay. The 2018 vintage has won three major trophies, including Champion White Wine in 2020.

The term Tolpuddle Martyrs, was used to refer to the convicts from England who were sent to Tasmania, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying this bottle of Chardonnay!

It is so famous that James Halliday has said ‘If ever a new winery was born with blue blood in its veins, Tolpuddle would have to be it.”

If you would like to capture magic in a bottle, we also have the 2021 Tolpuddle Chardonnay & Pinot Noir currently in our cellar. This Pinot Noir became the first Tasmanian red to be awarded the Best Pinot Noir outside of Burgundy in 2022.

If you would like to cellar a bottle yourself, please contact the team at dine@tattersallsclub.org.
