By DJ Munro, Membership & Marketing Manager

Last Thursday evening the Club hosted new and existing Members alike for a wonderful evening of New Members Drinks.

Chairman Colin Dunn welcomed Members and entertained all in attendance (including one very fresh Membership and Marketing Manager!) with tales of how our great Club came to be.

During the mid-1800s, racing industry leaders needed a place to congregate and share tips and information (let alone a pint or several). They came together in 1858, and so the concept of our Club was born.

The Club’s name was derived from Richard Tattersall’s horse auction yard Tattersalls Sales. Richard established Tattersalls Sales in 1766 at Hyde Park Corner which has a nice synergy to our Club’s locale today.

Our fledgling Club was then bound Act of Parliament – the Tattersalls Club Act of 1888 – and the rest, as they say, is history.

As we move forward into 2022, I hope you get to know your new fellow Members well. As your new Membership and Marketing Manager, I also look forward to getting to know Members and understanding how I can best serve you, and how we can keep improving this great Club together.
