Monday 4 July saw the first round of the Snooker Interclub Competition which was held at the Royal Automobile Club of Australia.

The night was truly a handicapper’s victory, with lots of very close matches and very close final results, leading to wonderful competition for all players.

The Tattersalls team took on home players RACA with many close games. The final result was a 6-4 win to Tatts with a foul on the last black ball in the doubles.

Congratulations to the Tattersalls team of John Threlfo, Daniel Turk, Rick Farrar, Jock Baird, James Burkitt, Allan Langridge, Paul Hooper, and Simon Hunter.

The Killara Golf Club vs Royal Sydney Golf Club match was even closer, with no fewer than five black ball games and a 5-5 result. You can’t script this stuff!

Those who lost have the consolation of an additional eight points to their handicaps, while as in all good socialist competitions, the winners have been suitably punished with eight taken away.

The next round of the Snooker Interclub Competition with be held Monday 1 August. Those wishing to play (and to earn their fair share of glory!) should contact Snooker Convenor John Threlfo via email or 0414 642 671.
