The Giro d’Italia, or just the Giro, is a gruelling multi-stage endurance race and is one of the three Grand Tours, along with the Tour de France and Vuelta a España.

Staged over three weeks with 21 individual stage races and two rest days, the Giro features the world’s best cyclists battling it out to win the prestigious pink winner’s jersey.

Big stages, big mountains and big time trials – this year’s Giro has stuck to what it does best and has provided the riders with some arduous days in the saddle. There was plenty of opportunity for the climbers as the peloton tackles seven summit finishes including a gruelling final week in the Dolomites.

The Athletic Department are pleased to announce our first-ever interactive Giro Down Under on Thursday 17 August starting at 06:00 and repeating again at 12:30.

The class will be pre-choreographed to replicate some of the biggest and best stages of the Gio and will feature inspiring Italian anthems to help push you that little bit harder and faster.

Don’t forget to stay with us for the post-class gathering.

This action is part of the Club’s celebration of Ferragosto. During this week you can also enjoy pasta paired with wine for $25 and specials at the Member’s Bar for $20.

We are anticipating a huge demand for this class, bookings are ESSENTIAL – please email athletic@tattersallsclub.org to reserve your bike.

Ci vediamo presto in bici!
