Dress for success – Please

COVID has brought us many things and let us forget some simple ones.

For many of us, the last 12 months have seen us working in a remote flexible environment where leisure (pronounced ‘leeshure’) wear has become an unflattering norm. Yes we know it’s comfortable, yes it’s what’s inside that counts. But.

As some of the finest people in the city, we know how sharp, fashionable and just plain incredible you can be. It’s time to dust off the suit, starch your collars or give that favourite dress another run… as long as you don’t take that literally and are not in running shoes.

Common sense is the cornerstone of our policy. Business casual is fine.

Thank you for your understanding.

Lead the International Women’s Day celebrations at Tattersalls

  • how they have overcome adversity
  • how COVID has affected how and where they work
  • changes for women they would like to see in the short term

February AD Member of the Month – Cross Country Queen Rosie Fordham

There are some pretty amazing sports in the world today, from curling in the winter Olympics and extreme bull riding in Texas, to our favourite new Olympic sport break dancing or “breaking” (see you at the 2024 Olympics), but one of the coolest crossovers in the sporting landscape is roller skiing, Australia’s answer to cross country skiing.

Roller skiing is a sport that pushes your lungs to the edge and makes your legs feel like they are on fire, a full-body workout like no other. One of Tattersalls youngest Members and our February Member of the Month, Rosie Fordham, is someone who chases this high regularly.

Rosie is an Australian Youth Winter Olympian, a cross country skiing specialist, who has represented her country at multiple events around the world. With everything that 2020 brought us, she was no longer able to attend the winter meets. Lucky for her, there was an alternative; roller skiing. Rosie has taken to the sport like a duck to water and recently competed in the world championships held in Canberra.

Over the week Rosie competed in multiple races covering a variety of distances and landscapes, and was able to achieve multiple podium finishes in her respective disciplines and finished in 2nd place overall in the 5km sprint race (a truly amazing feat for the world championships).

It is for these amazing reasons we have awarded Rosie the title of February AD Member of the Month.

We know that being Tattersalls AD Member of the Month is sure to rank high in your list of achievements Rosie, congratulations and well done.

Rosie is now in the running for Sports Person of the Year 2021.

WARATAHS LIVE! Let’s Disprove the fair-weather tag of Sydney siders

1988’s big hit was Yazz – “The only way is up”. Take note.

It will not come as a surprise to even the most faithful that the season opener against the Queensland Reds did not follow the script of the youthful debutants, representing their state for the first time. Wisdom and experience firmly weighed in our northern counterparts favour, much like the score.

The Club hosted the coterie Members of the Waratahs Positive Rugby Foundation, whilst playing the game on the big screen and enjoying Pines and pies. The wisdom of the old heads was also in the room, and we have good reason to remain expectant of our Tahs. Eight of the current playing roster were members of the recent U21 World Cup winning team. The only concern being the lack of time learning the real game from the incredible nursery that is the Shute Shield.

We are eager to disprove Sydney siders reputation as fair-weather supporters. How?

The happiest people in Sydney

Being well fed and watered is the secret to happiness. Everything else can fall into place when those crucial elements are covered.

On the anniversary of Spain descending into COVID, it’s been a while since we have considered our trips north of the equator.

Whilst Spain may no longer be top of the travel list, we are bringing some Spanish flavours to your table here at the Club during our happy hour.

Traditional tapas, Tattersalls style, to enjoy with your happy hour drinks. Think Ortiz anchovy soldiers, Tajima Wagyu bresaola and much more…

Each Wednesday to Friday
From 17:00 to 18:00
Starting in March

March into – March Workout of the Month

This Workout of the Month is perfect for those who are short on time but want to leave the AD feeling like they’ve climbed Mount Canobolas.

A mixture of strength, cardiovascular and muscle endurance this WOM is also the perfect kicker for those doing the 8 week challenge.

You’ll need the treadmills and the 16kg kettlebells.
Start by running 400mts (this is a timed WOM so the faster you run the better). After completing the 400mts hit stop on the treadmill, hop-off safely and pick up the kettlebells, now start your farmers walk by doing two laps of the whole AD and return to the treadmill.

Restart the treadmill and this time complete 300mts followed by two laps of the farmers walk, continue again doing 200mts followed by two walks, and then the final 100mts plus the two walks.

Once you have completed the last set of farmers walks, stop the timer and record your time on the board. Remember as this is a timed WOM, the faster you go the better (with safety in mind of course).

Please let the team know if they can help with the timing or set up of this month’s WOM. Good luck!
