Monday 1 August 2022 at Elanora Country Club, a cool winter’s day which warmed up to a sunny afternoon, 27 Members and Guests took part in the second golf day for the 2022 year at the scenic Elanora Country Club.
With Sydney in the middle of an extremely wet period, it was a pleasant change to have a fine day, and considering all of the rain that has fallen in Sydney, the course was in really good condition.
With a shot-gun start at 12:30, the field all departed together, on the very well-presented but challenging layout. It was great to see most players being able to stay for ale and the presentation after golf. Everyone was clearly happy to be back playing golf and socializing.
The winners on the day were as follows:
- First: Martin Karafilis with 34 points
- Second: Grahame White with 33 points
- Third: Peter Wilson (Guest) with 32 points
- Longest Drive: Robert Dunn (Guest)
- Nearest to the Pin: Marugan Thangaraj
We play four events during the year with the best three scores out of the four being used to determine the winner of the coveted Victor Audette Shield which can only be won by one Member.
The remainder of the events for the year are:
- Thursday 13 October 08:00 hit off at The Australian Golf Club; and
- Tuesday 8 November 08:00 hit off at NSW Golf Club.
These events will again be followed by a Christmas presentation lunch on a date to be fixed.
