Commencing in 1860 as an informal gymnastics training club, Olympic Club in San Francisco holds a rich history of fostering amateur athletics for over 160 years now.

In the 1800s, the Membership roster included such names as Mark Twain, William Randolph Hearst, Charles Crocker, Leland Stanford, James G. Fair and John Mackay, as well as athletes such as “Gentleman Jim” Corbett, winner of the world heavyweight title in 1892.

Over the years, Olympic Club underwent a massive expansion, now offering a luxurious hotel stay, elegant dining experience, two Clubhouses, and 45 holes of golf, and also boasts more than 10,000 Members competing in 16 sports.

The Club provides one of the most magnificent golfing experiences California has to offer with its courses spread across three locations: Lake, Ocean and Cliffs. Not only this, Members have brought home Olympic medals, international titles, and national & world records, and built nationally competitive amateur programs in a number of sports.
